The Office of Community Safety(OCS) was created as part of the Community Safety Initiative, which was approved by the Prince William County Board of Supervisors in December 2022. OCS is committed to promoting safe and secure communities by using a holistic and trauma-informed approach to prevention and intervention. OCS makes evidence-based decisions and targets the underlying factors that contribute to violence and lack of safety, with a focus on improving life outcomes through community engagement and co-production of community safety.
