County Recognizes Local Businesses While Workforce Collaboration Program Wins at Annual Chamber of Commerce Awards

​On Feb. 25, Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chair-at-Large Ann B. Wheeler presented the Prince William County 2021 Business Partnership Award to local businesses MurLarkey Distilled SpiritsZESTRON and Abel Industries for working with the County's Emergency Operations Center to provide much-needed hand sanitizer during the emergence of COVID-19 in the spring of 2020. 

Chair Wheeler surprised the companies with the award at the virtual Prince William Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, which are held annually to honor the best of local businesses and recognize outstanding contributions to the community.    

Also during the awards program, the county's ELEVATE Program, a collaborative initiative between Prince William County, the City of Manassas and City of Manassas Park, was recognized as the Innovative Partnership of the Year by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Geared toward connecting job seekers and employers, the program was recognized for developing a partnership that allowed three jurisdictions to better identify and reach local populations who needed career advancement training and access to the talent pipeline now and in the future.
