Police Department
REMINDER: Clear the Shelters Event is Saturday

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA . . . The Prince William County Police Department's Animal Control Bureau joins other organizations in the Washington, D.C. metro area – along with NBC4 – to encourage the public to visit local animal shelters and adopt a pet on Saturday, August 17, for the 5th annual, nationwide "Clear the Shelters Day" event. The Animal Shelter is participating from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 14807 Bristow Rd., Manassas (20112).

The Prince William Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PWSPCA) will cover the adoption fees for animals adopted on August 17th, and the Animal Control Bureau will cover the spay/neuter fees for animals adopted on August 17th

The PWSPCA-sponsored P.A.W. Express van will also be set up in the Shelter's parking lot to help visitors view animals and get to know them.

Thanks to the support of NBC4, NBC-owned television stations, and Telemundo, hundreds of shelters in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia are teaming up to take part in a national push to find homes for pets in need. The Prince William County Animal Shelter is one of several shelters taking part in "Clear the Shelters Day" activities.
