The Comprehensive Plan is a document that guides the County’s physical development with the intent of understanding and preparing for the community’s future needs.
Based on demographic and economic forecasts, the Comprehensive Plan looks to the County’s future in terms of economic development, transportation, historic, cultural and rural preservation, and parks, open space and trails.
The Parks, Recreation & Tourism chapter of Prince William County’s Comprehensive Plan lays out our community’s approach to managing and developing recreational resources as well as cultural resources and open space. It establishes a vision for achieving a balance between the quantity and quality of parkland and facilities as well as a balance between conservation issues and the provision of land for active recreation.
