**COVID-19 Update: Prince William County has re-opened county facilities to the public as of Wednesday, July 1, 2020, in accordance with Governor Northam's authorization of Phase 3. The Finance Department’s public-facing offices are Taxpayer Services and Real Estate Assessments. Taxpayer Services is fully operational for walk-in visitors, with the exception of the Ferlazzo building location which will remain closed until further notice due to COVID-19. Real Estate Assessments is open to the public by appointment only. Face coverings (as defined below) will be enforced in all County buildings. Have pen, paper and tax bill ready before calling.
Dial 1-888-2PAY TAX (1-888-272-9829) using a touch tone telephone.
When prompted, enter Jurisdiction Code 1036 for Prince William County.
Press 1 for Personal Property Tax.
Press 2 for Real Estate Tax.
Enter the Tax Account numbers listed on the billing statement.
The automated system will prompt you for the information it needs to process your payment. Be sure to write down the receipt number in case there are questions about your payment.

For prompt processing,
tax payments should be mailed with the tear off remittance slip
placed in the return envelope that came with the tax bill.
A single check
may be used to pay multiple bills. When paying multiple bills, please
include with the payment the tear off remittance
slips of each bill.
The directions on most
tax bills direct you to return payment to PO Box 1600, Merrifield, VA 22116-1611. This
address is a mail collection point for remittance processing. The County uses a
remittance processor to ensure that transactions are accurately captured and
posted.

Pay in Person at a County Location
Make a payment at one of three Taxpayer Services locations - Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 A.M. and 4 P.M., excluding
County Holidays. Payments options include cash, money order, check, pin-debit card, and Discover card. A nominal
service fee is added to all Discover Card payments.
Make a payment 24-hours a day seven days a week at a depository box located near the main entrance of any Taxpayer Services location. Drop off payment options include check and money order. Checks are to be made payable to: "Prince William County" or "PWC". To ensure payment is properly processed, please enclose your bill stub, account number, or other description of the bill to which payment is to be credited. Drop-off payments on your schedule without the hassle of standing in line. Easy. Simple. Secure.
