We continue to encourage residents to follow CDC and VDH guidelines on preventing the spread of germs and respiratory diseases. These recommendations include:
✓ Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
✓ Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
✓ Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds.
✓ Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are unavailable.
✓ Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
✓ Stay home from school/work if you are ill, especially if you have a fever or cough.
If you are feeling ill with
flu-like symptoms that include a
fever, cough, or
shortness of breath, AND have traveled to a
Level 3 travel advisory country OR have been exposed to someone sick with COVID-19
in the last 14 days, you should contact your healthcare provider or local hospital emergency department PRIOR to arriving at the facility. Upon making contact prior to your arrival, report your travel history or contact and symptoms to medical personnel so they can prepare for your arrival.
Please continue to monitor Prince William County’s Emergency Website for updates:
