Effective immediately all Bluebird Tour Program trips through December 31st have been postponed.

Over the past month many states have entered into Phase III of reopening due to COVID-19 numbers reducing. However, over the past week we have seen states start to retract these decisions as COVID-19 cases have begun to rise again. Due to the ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19,and in order to ensure the safety of our participants, all Bluebird Tour trips through the remainder of 2020 have been postponed. This includes overnight trips. CDC guidance recommends that older adults take everyday precautions to keep themselves safe, to include washing your hands often, avoiding crowds - especially in poor ventilated areas, staying away from others who are sick, and avoiding non-essential travel.

For those participants who have already been charged for trips, Quality Tours has issued an automatic credit for a tour of your choosing in the future.  However, If you desire a refund instead, Quality will be issuing refunds to those participants who write in or e-mail to request. Due to the nature of these refunds it is important that Quality has a written/e-mail request from participants to ensure disbursement. Refunds will be issued by check and all participants who have already written in are scheduled to receive their refund by check in the coming weeks.

Additionally, a revised tour schedule for tours starting in 2021 will be posted at a later date.

Participant Eligibility & Reservations

Reservation dates are listed in the Bluebird Tour schedules. No reservations will be taken before the initial reservation date. Reservations can be made for up to four people at one time, including yourself.  If a travel companion does not live in Prince William County, or the cities of Manassas or Manassas Park, or if a participant is not yet 55 years of age, a reservation cannot be made for them on reservation day. Exceptions are made for spouses of those who are age 55 or older, who may join their significant other regardless of age.

Participants who do not live in the tri-jurisdictional area, or who are under age 55 may sign up for tours, but must wait three calendar days after the original reservation date. If spaces remain open three days after the reservation date, any resident over 18 years of may participate.  Reservations are made by contacting Quality Tour Transport, Inc. directly at 703-339-0333.

Bluebird Tour Program Inclement Weather Policy

If Prince William County Schools are closed due to inclement weather, day tours will be cancelled.  Day tours are also cancelled when Prince William County Government employees have "Unscheduled Leave" due to inclement weather.  Overnight tours may be cancelled due to inclement weather.  The decision to cancel will be made by Agency staff and QTT staff.  Overnight tour cancellations will be on the tour hotline two-hours before the tour is to depart. 

For notification of cancelled tours on holidays and weekends, call (703) 792-RIDE (7433) for a recorded message up to two hours before the tour is to depart from the first pick-up location.  It is the participant's responsibility to call the Bluebird Travel Hotline to find out if a tour has been cancelled due to inclement weather.  If money has been paid out to a vendor for a tour that has been cancelled due to inclement weather, a refund will only be given if QTT can secure a refund from the vendor or if money has not already been paid out.  Attempts are made to reschedule a tour when it is cancelled due to inclement weather.  If a tour can be rescheduled and an individual is unable to participate in the new date, a refund will only be given if there is a refund secured from the vendor or there is someone on the standby list to take the seat.

In the event that there is inclement weather while a tour is taking place and additional day(s)/night(s) on the road are necessary, the cost of the lodging and meals will be at the expense of the participants.  It is at the discretion of the Tour Escort and/or Driver to decide when a tour will be postponed due to inclement weather while a tour is taking place.
