On Wednesday, July 17th, at 7:00 p.m., the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System held its Volunteer Firefighter Recruit Graduation Ceremony at the Public Safety Training Center located at 13101 Public Safety Drive in Nokesville, Virginia. Battalion Chief Mike LaSalle presided over the ceremony. Assistant Chief James Forgo and Volunteer Chief Jerry Deem provided an inspirational message to the recruits and attendees.
Recruit Class 19144 consisted of 11 recruits who successfully completed 6 months of rigorous academic and physical training at the System's Public Safety Training Center. Each student performed 420 hours of training which consisted of 300 hours of Firefighter I & II, 40 hours of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Training, 40 hours of Hazardous Materials Training (up to the Operations level), Liquid Petroleum Gas Training and 4 days of Firefighter Survival Training. Upon graduation, they will be designated as Firefighter.
