The Prince William County Public Libraries, the Historic Preservation Division and the Parks and Recreation Department have lots of events planned for December. Here are the highlights.
It's double the fun at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Watch a fun-filled romp through fairy tales at Chinn Park Library's
Little Red and the Gingerbread Man with the Rainbow Puppets; or visit the library at 13065 Chinn Park Drive to clap, laugh and sing with the one-man band that is
On Saturday, Dec. 5, at 2 p.m., interested parties can put in their two cents on activities they would like to see at the Montclair Community Library. There will be snacks, too. The library is located at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Waterway Drive.
Santa Claus will be stopping by Independent Hill, Lake Ridge, Nokesville, Dale City, and Dumfries neighborhood libraries throughout the month of December. Check out the

Central Community Library, at 8601 Mathis Ave. in Manassas, will host
Colonial English Hand Bell Ringers at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12.
Resounding Joy, the hand bell choir from All Saints' Church in Manassas, will perform at Haymarket Gainesville Community Library at 14870 Lightner Road at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13.
"Let it snow, man!" The
Kaydee Puppets' holiday show is at Central Community Library at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. The show tells the story of poor Mr. Snowman, who is asked to take care of Santa's workshop only to have things go awry.

Eat lunch with Santa at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, at the Old Manassas Courthouse at 9248 Lee Ave. after the Manassas Christmas Parade. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for ages 10 and under. Call 703-792-4754 to make reservations.
Take a trip to Rippon Lodge, at 15520 Blackburn Road in Woodbridge, to see Santa when he visits the lodge at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. Wrap up the day with a visit to the Historic Union Church at the Brentsville Historic Centre at 12229 Bristow Road to hear the Brentsville District High School Choir's free holiday concert from 5-7 p.m.

The Chinn Aquatics and Fitness Center, at 13025 Chinn Park Drive in Woodbridge, will host a breakfast with Santa between 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. The cost to have breakfast with the man in a red suit is $8 for children and $5 for adults. Call 703-730-1051 to make reservations.
Share cookies with Mrs. Claus between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Pat White Community Center at Ben Lomond, 10501 Copeland Drive in Manassas. The cost is $5 per family member. Call 703-792-8320 to make reservations.
"Drop to Shop" will be in effect throughout December at several parks locations. For $30, shoppers can drop off their children at the community center at Veterans Park, 14300 Veterans Drive in Woodbridge, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, 12 and 19. On Dec. 12, the Chinn Park Aquatics and Fitness Center, 13065 Chinn Park Drive, will be accepting kids from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for $10 each.
