Birchdale Community Center Gets a New Playground

This afternoon, Prince William County staff and a few members of the local community joined Neabsco District Supervisor, Victor S. Angry and Prince William County Parks and Recreation Director, Seth Hendler-Voss to celebrate the new playground and picnic shelters at Birchdale Community Center.

It was a beautiful day on the first full day of spring to celebrate the new playground which features a large play structure for older children, as well as a small tot play area for the little ones. Two new ADA accessible picnic shelters were also added, one located right next to the playground for convenience.

Both Hendler-Voss and Supervisor Angry gave brief remarks at the rededication ceremony.

“Thank you to the staff that worked on this project as well as our advisory body, County Executive's office and of course our elected officials for your support and for your foresight to reinvest our resources into our existing facilities which are so beloved by our community,” said Hendler-Voss.

“We had some ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds remaining and we got to put those funds to good use in renovating certain parks,” said Supervisor Angry. “It was time for an upgrade (at Birchdale)—and what an upgrade.”

Birchdale also features an outdoor pool, basketball courts and skate park. To learn more about its features, click here.
