PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA...Following a nationwide search and competitive hiring process, the Board of County Supervisors announced that Robert Mancini will head the county's Department of Information Technology as the new Chief Information Officer.
Mancini brings with him 30 years of experience in the field of information technology, with 12 of those years in local
government. He most recently served as Chief Information Officer for Lexington Technology where he provided leadership and recovery services to the organization, including developing and executing a critical turnaround plan for the IT division, negotiation of service contracts and introduction of service level agreements, and initiating programs that increased productivity while reducing attrition.
Before that, Mancini served as the Chief Technology Officer for the D.C. government where he developed strategies and oversaw all technology services for the organization. While there, he created the Digital Inclusion Initiative to expand access to broadband services in underserved areas of D.C., developed the D.C. Centralized Technology Procurement team and developed strategic public-private partnerships with several cybersecurity entities, among other successful initiatives.

Mancini received a Master of Science degree in Information Systems from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics from Radford University.
