Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre to be Used for In-Person Absentee Voting

Prince William voters living in the west end of the county will have another place for absentee voting in the upcoming 2017 General Election. The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently voted to open a trial in–person absentee voting location at the Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre. The voting place will open two weeks prior to the November 2017 General Election.

The cost for opening the additional location is $24,085 and includes the cost of voting machines, check in stations and signage, laptops to access state voter database and election officers.

People who can vote in-person absentee include voters whose work times exceed 11 hours between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Election Day, voters having business or having vacation outside of the county on Election Day and voters who have a disability or religious obligations.

Other in-person absentee voting places include:

  • Office of Elections at 9250 Lee Avenue in Manassas

  • Caton Hill Division of Motor Vehicles at 2731 Caton Hill Road in Woodbridge

  • Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building at 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge

  • McCoart Government Center at 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge

  • Haymarket-Gainesville Community Library at 14870 Lightner Road in Haymarket

Voting places for in-person absentee voting are currently open at the Office of Elections and the Caton Hill DMV. The remaining voting locations will open Oct. 23, two weeks before the November 7 Election. In-person absentee voting places will close on Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
