PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA… Fire and Rescue System Chief Kevin McGee announced his retirement from Prince William County, Va. after 39 years of exceptional service.

McGee entered the Prince William County Fire and Rescue Academy in 1979 and has served proudly throughout his career. His leadership and technical acumen earned him opportunities to continue his service through all levels of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System, including his last 11 years as chief.

"Chief McGee is a proven leader and dedicated public servant," said Chris Martino, County Executive. "We are grateful for his efforts to shape the Fire and Rescue System into one of the premier systems in the nation, and we will certainly miss his presence."

"It has been an honor and privilege to serve the Prince William County community for 39 years," stated McGee. "I will forever cherish the opportunity I had to serve with so many amazing men and women over the years, and I am proud of the changes we have implemented to make Prince William County a safer community."

McGee's last day in the office will be Jan. 11, 2019. Deputy Chief Tim Keen will serve as Acting Chief of the Fire and Rescue System.
