The audience will be part the show when a camera crew comes to the Hylton Performing Arts Center to do a live recording for Dailey and Vincent, named three times as Entertainer of the Year by International Bluegrass Music Association.
“Dailey and Vincent are a rising bluegrass duo out of Nashville; a fantastic group that Country Music Television calls the rock stars of bluegrass,” said Rick Davis, the executive director of the performing arts center. “They chose the Hylton Center to be the venue for their first-ever, live DVD and TV show because they fell in love with the hall the very first time they played here.”
Davis said Merchant Hall, the main performance venue at the center, provides good acoustics along with good vantage points for cameras in the wings, orchestra pit, back stage and the floor of the hall itself. “The Hylton Center turns out to be the perfect place to do this this kind of work, to do television taping and special events like this. First of all the beauty of the hall itself – it’s a really lovely place to come and do and see a concert. Secondly, the great acoustics are important because the TV audience wants to have what they call room tone. Thirdly, this hall provides lots of places to put cameras. It really turns out to be a great little TV studio.”
According to Davis, the tickets are priced to sell for the shows at 7.p.m. on Saturday, Sept 13 and at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14. “We want to fill the house. They’re $20 for general admission, $10 for military veterans and their families. We really want everybody to come and have a great time.”
Tickets are available online at www.HyltonCenter.org. Tickets may also be purchased in the lobby of the Hylton Performing Arts Center, which is located at 10900 University Boulevard in Manassas.
