The ‘Tween Zone features crafts, demonstrations or performers for those students in grades 4–6. These programs are designed especially for our patrons between childhood and adolescence. *Diary of a Wimpy Kid Celebration!Celebrate the release of the 4th book in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by partying like Greg Heffley. We will have games and activities, and maybe some jellybeans, if Fregley doesn’t get them first! Wednesday, November 4, 7:00 p.m. This program is for students in grades 4–6. Please register by telephone or in person beginning October 21. |
*Peace OrigamiVeteran’s Day is November 11th! Honor those who served with a symbol of peace from World War II. Share the story of Sadako Sasaki and the thousand paper cranes, then learn how to fold paper cranes. We will create cranes with the goal of hanging one thousand cranes in the young adult area of the library. Supplies will also be available at the Information Desk throughout November and December until we complete one thousand cranes to help remember Sadako and her wish for peace. Tuesday, November 10, 4:30 p.m. For middle and high school students. Drop in; no registration required. |
*Beaded BookmarksUse beads, charms & cord in addition to your own ingenuity to create a unique bookmark to take home—to keep or give as a gift. When you use it, it will tell everyone “This is MY book!” All materials are provided. Tuesday, November 17, 4:30 p.m. For middle and high school students. Registration, in person or by phone, begins November 3. Limit 24.
