Bring your creative self and make a masterpiece
to take home! View the short film “Art” by
Patrick O’Donnell, and see how Art (the boy)
turns his scribbles and splotches into… well—
Art! Then we’ll try a few techniques of our own.

April Fool’s Flick: Wallace & Gromit
and the Curse of the WereRabbit
The clumsy but creative Wallace invents a
humane pest-control outfit called "Anti-Pesto"
to protect the gardens in the neighborhood.
With the annual Giant Vegetable Competition
coming up, panic erupts when a “beast” begins
feasting on the town’s vegetable plots. It is up
to Wallace and his trusty dog, Gromit, to hunt
down a mysterious invader of epic and fluffy
proportions. You are welcome to bring your
lunch or a snack to enjoy during the film.

Monday Matinee:
Monsters vs Aliens
When a meteorite from
outer space hits a young
girl and douses her with
the alien liquid Quantonium it turns her into a 48 foot
monster. She is taken to a secret government compound
where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded
up over the years. This crew of reluctant heroes is asked
to save the earth from the evil alien Gallaxhar in this
animated comedy. You are welcome to bring your lunch
or a snack to enjoy during the film.

*“Holy National Library Week, Batman!”
National Library Week is an annual celebration of the
contributions of our nation's libraries and librarians. We
think librarians are superheroes, and the caped crusader
himself will be stopping by to celebrate our library! Join
us for comic book themed games and activities, and
bring your camera.

For all ages.
Please pick up a free ticket for this program beginning
March 27. A ticket will be required for each child
participating; a person may pick up no more than 5

'Tween Zone |
The ‘Tween Zone features crafts,
demonstrations or performers for those
students in grades 4–6. These programs are
designed especially for our patrons between childhood and adolescence.

*Magazine Bowls
School's Out and Earth Day is also coming up, so the 'tweens
will make Magazine Bowls, a recycled craft that's both colorful
and trendy! Can you really make a bowl out of a magazine? All
supplies are provided for this free program, and creativity is
encouraged.

Monthly Mind Benders
"National Poetry Month" Quiz
Pick up a monthly Mind Bender contest form at the Potomac
Library during the month of April. This month's contest is
a "National Poetry Month" Quiz. Complete and return the form
before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30. A drawing from the entries
with the most correct answers will win a $10.00 gift certificate
for Borders Books.

Babies need books, too! Learn about literacy skills through stories, songs &
play for infants & toddlers 6 months–24 months. This series of programs will
continue though May. Topics covered in the March sessions are:

April 12: Phonological Awareness
April 26: Vocabulary
Preregistration is required and registration has been closed. If
you are signed up for the series, we ask that you do not sign
up for the individual programs on Thursdays, in order to give
others the opportunity to attend.

session. These sessions are designed for those not signed up for the Book Babies
Series of programs.

Crafts or activities for ages 4 and
up. All children must be
accompanied by an adult helper; younger
siblings are welcome to attend, too.
