Meet Musher Karen Land and her sled dog BorageMeet Iditarod dog musher and her Alaskan husky at Central Community Library. Spend an afternoon with Iditarod dog musher Karen Land and her Alaskan husky. Learn about the Alaskan Iditarod Sled Dog Race and meet Borage, a sled dog, who was a member of Land's team. Land will discuss sled dog racing and what led her to participate in the sport's most grueling race. Sunday, March 21, 2:00 p.m. For ages 4 and up. Registration, in person or by phone, begins March 1. |
Show how much you love your library and books!Have your picture put on a READ poster just like the ones of celebrities displayed in the library. The entire family can have individual posters (11” x 17” or 8 ½” x 11”) or bookmarks (2 ½” x 6 ½”) or group posters. Choose your background from Bookstack, Rocket, Medieval, Clouds, or Leaf; have your picture taken with your favorite book(s) (one pose and one background only); and pick up the finished product in three weeks. Donations to The Friends of Central and Bull Run Libraries will be greatly appreciated. If you give permission, a copy of your poster will be displayed in the library during National Library Week (April 11 - 17) so that all your friends and family can see how much you value your library and books! Muncha Buncha BooksStories + Crafts + Music = Quality time with your child and it's all free! For ages 2-6 accompanied by an adult.
