	Department: Agency on Aging Location: County-Wide POC: Rosemari Walker Phone: 703-792-4156 Closing Date:  Open Until Filled
	Goal of Position: To keep homebound older persons connected to the community. To reduce homebound individuals' sense of isolation and assist them in maintaining feelings of independence and self worth.
	Activities/ Responsibilities: Socialization/companionship, reading, responding to mail, writing letters, crafts, occasional transportation, occasional shopping, walks, seasonal activities, other.
	Services Benefits:
	Timeframe (Work Schedule): One hour a week for one year.
	Qualifications sought: Empathy for older persons;sensitive to the needs of homebound frail elderly. Friendly person with skills in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships. Must have own car, valid driver's license and current auto insurance. 18 years of age or above.
