  Goal of Position: Index local newspapers for articles of lasting interest.

  Activities/ Responsibilities: Select articles based on written guidelines. Enter data into library's catalog,includig an abstract of each article. Clip articles regarding local historic sites for VA file. Keep Supervisor informed of progess.

Services Benefits: 

Timeframe (Work Schedule): At least two hours per week. May work at other library branches having appropriate computer access, or work can be done from home. Able to work on a regular basis.

Qualifications sought: Able to understand written English and to find the important features of a news story. Basic computer literacy. Typing skills are a MUST. Detail-oriented and accuracy, able to work on a regular basis. Familiarity with local names and places is useful but not essential. A self starter, able to work independently.

Benefits: Training provided, Work can be done from home computer. All active volunteers are exempt from paying library fines.
