  Goal of Position: Provide library services to patrons.

  Activities/ Responsibilities: Provide assistance to the public at a Neighborhood Library. Check-in and check-out borrowed materials. Collect fines for overdue materials,operate cash register, issue library cards and replacements, answer telephone, sort and return materials to shelves. Perform shelf checks, shelf read, assist patrons with computers, and copiers. Other duties as assigned.

Services Benefits: 

Timeframe (Work Schedule): Require at least a six month commitment for 2, 3 or 4 hours block of time per week.

Qualifications sought: Ability to learn a variety of library tasks quickly and to adhere to prescribed routines. Ability to perform clerical tasks accurately, to understand and follow oral and written instructions. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with library patrons and employees. The ability to interpret and transmit to public and staff library rules and regulations. Some public contact experience desired. Dependable, punctual and flexible.
