Virginia Constitutional Amendment HJ8; real property tax exemption for spouses of soldiers killed in action: Provides that the General Assembly may provide a real property tax exemption for the primary residence of surviving spouses of members of the military who are killed in action.  Such tax exemption may not be claimed by a surviving spouse who has remarried.

Election Deadlines

  • Last Day to Register to Vote, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 5pm in-person or 11:59 p.m. on-line (use Virginia DMV DL or ID #).

  • Last Day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail is Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 5 p.m.

  • BY MAIL: To receive an absentee ballot in the mail, complete an Absentee Ballot Application form and a local General Registrar's office by mail, fax or email.

  • IN PERSON: Visit the General Registrar's office in the locality where you are registered to vote.  For Prince William County registered voters, dates, times and locations for in-person absentee voting are listed on this Absentee Flyer
