Virginia Constitutional Amendment HJ8; real property tax exemption for spouses of soldiers killed in action: Provides that the General Assembly may provide a real property tax exemption for the primary residence of surviving spouses of members of the military who are killed in action.  Such tax exemption may not be claimed by a surviving spouse who has remarried.

Election Deadlines

November 4, 2014 General Election Deadlines:

  • Last Day to Register to Vote for the November 4, 2014 General Election, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 5pm in-person or 11:59 p.m. on-line (use Virginia DMV DL or ID #).

  • Last Day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail for the November 4, 2014 General Election is Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 5 p.m.

December 23, 2014 Special Election Deadlines:

  • Last Day to Register to Vote for the December 23, 2014 Special Election, Monday, December 1, 2014 at 5pm in-person or 11:59 p.m. on-line (use Virginia DMV DL or ID #).

  • Last Day to request an Absentee Ballot by mail for the December 23, 2014 Special Election is Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 5:00 p.m.

  • Candidate Filing Deadline for the December 23, 2014 Special Election is Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. in the Prince William County Office of Elections, 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1, Manassas VA 20110 at 5:00 p.m. 

 

How to Vote Absentee

General Election, November 4, 2014:

  • BY MAIL: To receive an absentee ballot in the mail, complete an Absentee Ballot Application form and submit to a local General Registrar's office by mail, fax or email.

  • IN PERSON: Visit the General Registrar's office in the locality where you are registered to vote.  For Prince William County registered voters, dates, times and locations for in-person absentee voting are listed on this Absentee Flyer.  PWC In-Person Absentee Voting for the November 4, 2014 General Election starts Friday, September 19, 2014 and ends Saturday, November 1, 2014.

Special Election, December 23, 2014:

  • BY MAIL:  To receive an absentee ballot in the mail, complete an Absentee Ballot Application form with Special Election date annotated and submit to the PWC General Registrar's office by mail, fax (703) 792-4973 or email.

  • IN PERSON: PWC In-Person Absentee Voting for the December 23, 2014 Special Election starts Friday, November 7, 2014 and ends Saturday, December 20, 2014.
