The next scheduled Electoral Board Meeting will be June 13, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. at the Old Courthouse (9248 Lee Avenue, Manassas) to conduct the Ascertainment of the June 12, 2012 election, followed by a meeting at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections.
In Dec., 2010, the Board of County Supervisors approved the Electoral Board's request to opt out of the Department of Justice preclearance requirements of the Voting Rights Act. More
The Department of Justice has reviewed the request and the County is now seeking a declaratory judgment from the U.S. District Court (March 12, 2012). View the Notice.
In April 2012 the U.S. District Court approved the County's request for an exemption from the Preclearance requirement. Read the County's press release here.
