 WHEN FAMILIES GET ANGRY (WFGA)

 Helping Families Understand and Manage Anger

 

Anger is a powerful emotion caused by many factors. Everyone experiences anger from time to time and is motivated by it to either overcome obstacles and achieve goals or to hurt oneself or others.
 
When Families Get Angry  (WFGA) is a three session six-hour course developed to assist parents in understanding and constructively dealing with anger in the -home. Classes are offered at various locations throughout Prince William County. The cost to cover class materials is $40 per individual or couple.  ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED; walk-ins are not accepted. Class registration closes at 1 p.m. on the day of the first class. Classes focus on anger between parents, parents and children, and siblings with recognition of influences from outside forces. Sessions are led by trained staff who have an understanding of the effects anger has on families. The curriculum was developed at Virginia Tech under the supervision of Virginia Cooperative Extension staff.
