Would you enjoy making a difference in our community? Combine your skills by becoming a Virginia Cooperative Extension, Master Financial Education Volunteer. Our passion is to share research-based methods for improving personal financial health.
PURPOSE OF MASTER financial Educators & VOLUNTEERS
The purpose of a Master Financial Education Volunteers (MFEV) is to promote and educate consumers about the benefits of adopting healthy personal financial behaviors. VCE education and counseling programs support positive personal finance habits that lead to improved quality of life for the community as a whole. MFEVs promote financial best practices and tools such as reducing student debt, growing savings, improving credit or helping clients learn to use financial apps. Your MFEV training will support the education programs and financial coaching offered by VCE leading clients to make better-informed financial decisions.
MASTER Financial Education VOLUNTEER (MFEV) TRAINING
There is no prior educational requirement for those interested in becoming a Master Financial Education Volunteer. Most volunteers have worked in the financial sector, banking, insurance or another financial management capacity. Our excellent training program will prepare you with the current financial tools, apps, & resources, to prepare you to share these tools with others. You will enjoy the 24 hours of hands-on, research-based training over 9 weeks. Brush up on your presentation skills and interpersonal communications. Class size is limited. Registration fee is $60.00 which covers the cost of the materials.

After completing training, volunteers agree to provide an additional 50 volunteer hours annually. Opportunities for service include leading financial seminars, one-on-one counseling, and coaching sessions, and community outreach efforts including a speakers' bureau, leading the AmericaSaves presentations, working with clients for referrals to resources, or whatever matches your time and talent. There is something for everyone!
