4-H Healthy Eating Active Living Program
This 4-H youth development program is designed to teach children about healthy lifestyles, addressing the issue of childhood obesity in today’s youth. The "Get Fit, That’s It” Curriculum includes:
Importance of healthy eating using MyPyramid
Planning healthy snacks and breakfast
How food choices contribute to healthy lifestyles
Make food and beverage choices based on nutritional content
Curriculum includes five SOL based lessons and activities for each grade level, grades K-5. This program is currently taught in classrooms of Prince William County and City of Manassas school systems, grades K-5. We train teachers and volunteers to teach this program. Every school has a kit available for each grade level. The Prince William County 4-H office has kits available for check out.
