4-H Events

PWC 4-H Annual Calendar

4-H events offer a variety of fun learning experiences for 4-H members throughout the year. These planned events provide opportunities to learn new things, gain leadership skills and have fun with kids with similar interests.

Tree Seedlings
4-H offers tree seedlings to youth educators for planting projects in the community each spring. Tree seedlings varieties are different each year. Tree seedlings are ordered based on pre-reservations. This program is timely for Earth Day celebrations and events.

Fashion Revue (For currently enrolled members)
For those with interest in clothing and design, whether they sew or not, Fashion Revue is an opportunity to model an outfit they have either made or purchased. All outfits are judged by volunteer judges. Fashion Revue is an ideal opportunity to practice public speaking skills and stage presence.

4-H Junior Camp
Junior Camp is a five-day overnight camp for youth ages 9-13, held the third week of July at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal, Virginia. Children participate in camp classes, recreation, swimming and campfires and have lots of fun! Extension agent staff, trained adults and teen counselors operate the camp.

4-H Fair Day Camp
4-H Fair Day Camp is held during the week of the annual County Fair, at the Prince William County Fairgrounds. Children ages 5-12 learn about agriculture in Virginia and enter projects in the fair.

4-H Food Challenge
The 4-H Food Challenge is one of the newest 4-H projects/contests. It's pretty exciting 4-H fun! Please join us as we learn how to do this project and contest together. In the 4-H Food & Nutrition Program, youth learn how to prepare nutritious and safe meals and snacks and adopt behaviors that can help create a balanced diet. This contest challenges teams of 4-H members to create a dish using only a predetermined set of ingredients. From these ingredients, team members must identify and prepare the dish, then make a presentation about it to the judges. Become a Prince William County 4-H Food Challenge Volunteer!

4-H State Congress
State Congress is held annually at Virginia Tech and is open to senior 4-H members. Participants choose either a competition, leadership or community service track. National award winners are selected to represent Virginia at National 4-H Congress. An event for currently enrolled 4-H members ages 14 and up.
