Homeless & Winter Shelters
The Winter Shelter is a 47-bed overnight shelter for single adult men and women that is in operation each year November 1 through March 31, from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. The purpose of the shelter is to protect homeless residents from hypothermia during the winter season.
Update: Due to the National Weather Service forecasting temperatures below freezing, the Winter Shelter will operate on extended hours during the following dates and times:
Sunday, January 25, 2015
Winter Shelter will be extended until 10 a.m. Winter Shelter re-opens for regularly scheduled hours from 6:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.
Monday, January 26, 2015
Winter shelter will be extended until 1pm. Drop In Center will be open from 1pm-6pm. Winter Shelter will re-open for regularly scheduled hours from 6:30pm-7am.

Winter Shelter will be extended until 1 p.m. Drop In Center will be open from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. Winter Shelter will re-open for regularly scheduled hours from 6:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.

Drop In Center will be open from 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. Winter Shelter will be extended from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. Winter Shelter will re-open for regularly scheduled hours from 6:30 p.m. – 7 a.m.

HILDA BARG Homeless Prevention Center
This 30-bed shelter for families and single adults offers comprehensive services including case management, job readiness, mental health counseling and medical referrals. The shelter is open year-round.
The Homeless Prevention Center is located at 14945 Jefferson Davis Highway (Route 1), between Dale Blvd. & Opitz Blvd. in Woodbridge. For more information call 703-680-5403.
