Donation Place extensive item listing


Open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

All items must be in working order and in good condition.

Donation receipt available on request.
Facility contractor reserves the right to determine acceptability of items.

  • Clothing and Accessories (shoes, purses, belts, hats, etc.)
  • Linens, area rugs, curtains and draperies, bedspreads, blankets, comforters, etc.
  • Glassware and dishware
  • Cookware
  • Utensils
  • Small appliances (microware, toaster oven, toaster, etc.)
  • Home decorative accessories
  • Bric-a-brac and knick knacks
  • Lamps
  • Photo frames
  • Craft items
  • Games
  • Toys (all- plastic, wood metal and plush)
  • Books
  • CD’s, DVD’s, records, VHS and cassette tapes
  • Sporting goods and sleeping bags
  • Exercise equipment
  • Bicycles
  • Pianos, musical instruments
  • Pool tables
  • Hand tools
  • Small power tools
  • Gas powered tools and garden equipment (without gas and oil)
  • Strollers, high chairs and walkers
  • Furniture in resalable condition
  • Office furniture and supplies 

Facility contractor reserves the right to determine acceptability of items. 


Disposal alternatives at the Landfill for items 
unacceptable for The Donation Place.
 
All household electronics, televisions, computers, monitors, etc., must be taken to *Household Hazardous Waste/Electronics Recycling Collection area.
 
Mattresses and box springs must be discarded in trash bin at Citizen’s Convenience Area.
 
Cribs, playpens, car seats, etc., must be discarded in appropriate bin at Citizen’s Convenience Area.
Propane or other fuel containers must be taken to *Household Hazardous.
 
Chemical or hazardous materials must be must be taken to *Household Hazardous.
 
Broken or items missing parts should be discarded in appropriate bin at Citizen’s Convenience Area.
Other materials deemed unsafe may be accepted at *Household Hazardous.
 
*Household Hazardous Waste/Electronics Recycling Collection area  at the Prince William Landfill is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every 2nd Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Balls Ford Road Facility.
