Reduce Your Carbon Footprint
Here are a few simple things you can do to reduce your carbon footprint! A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment and air quality. It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through burning fossil fuels for electricity heating and transportation etc.
Turn it off when not in use
Turn down the water heating setting
Only run full loads for clothes washers and dishwashers
Insulate your hot water heater lofts and walls
Buy energy efficient models when replacing appliances and computers
Carpool when you can or use public transportation

Recycle phones at the Prince William County Electronics Recycling Collection every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the County Landfill or every second Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Balls Ford Road Compost Facility.
