- Fatal Crash | Hit & Run Investigation [Previously Released] – On November 29 at 8:44PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 18800 block of Fuller Heights Rd in Triangle (22172) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located an adult male lying in the roadway suffering from serious, life threatening injuries and was flown to a local hospital where he later died. The initial investigation revealed that the pedestrian, who was not in a crosswalk, was attempting to cross the westbound lane of Fuller Heights Rd when he was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound. The striking vehicle did not remain at the scene. Investigators are awaiting a positive identification of the pedestrian. The pedestrian is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. |Residential Burglary – On December 1 at 2:46AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3200 block of Grady Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary in progress. The homeowner reported to police that he was awoken by his dogs barking. When the homeowner went to check the residence, unknown voices were heard downstairs. Further investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence by the unknown suspects through an unsecured, rear door. A police K-9 searched the surrounding area for the suspects who were not located. A backpack, PlayStation 4, computer laptop, and money were reported missing.|
Residential Burglary – On November 30 at 5:31AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5000 block of Softwood Ln in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary in progress. A neighbor reported to police that an unknown male was seen walking out of a neighbor's attached garage. When the neighbor confronted the suspect, he fled the area on foot. Further investigation revealed that entry was made into the garage with a garage door opener which had been taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in front of the residence. Two bikes which had been taken from the garage were later recovered in the area. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Attempted Rape | Abduction – On November 30 at 1:58AM, detectives with the Special Victims Unit responded to investigate an attempted rape which occurred at a residence located in the 13800 block of Greenwood Dr in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 21-year-old woman of Herndon, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim when she attempted to leave and then knocked her to the ground where he attempted to removed her clothing. A struggle ensued and the accused punched the victim in the face multiple times. The accused eventually fled the residence and the victim contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Joshua Mark TESTA. The accused was located and arrested without incident at a hotel in Woodbridge later that afternoon.

Armed Robbery – On November 30 at 11:37AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery which had just occurred in the area of Griffin Dr and Lynn Dr in Woodbridge (22191). The victim, a 44-year-old man, reported to police that was sitting in his vehicle parked in the above area when a group of males approached him. During the encounter, the suspects demanded the victim roll down his window. When the victim refused, two of the suspects brandished a firearm and a BB gun at the victim and then demanded money. When the victim again refused, the males demanded the victim give them his vehicle. At some point, the suspects began to strike the vehicle causing one of the windows to shatter. The victim drove away from the area and then contacted police. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 and helicopter responded to search for the suspects. One of the suspects was located in a nearby business and detained without incident. The investigation continues.
