Missing Persons

The Police Department investigates cases of all persons - children and adults - reported to be missing from Prince William County. This includes any person, regardless of residence status, who was last known to be in the County, or any person who is a resident and it is unknown where they were last seen.

If a child or adult is missing, and his or her personal safety is in danger, call 911 immediately!

  • Alert Notification Program -- The Prince William County Police Department uses a telephone-based service called A Child Is Missing (ACIM) Alert Program which is primarily used for missing persons. ACIM sends immediate voice messages to all listed numbers that are registered with the telephone company.   • Project Lifesaver -- Missing Adults
    The Prince William County Sheriff's Office runs a program called Project Lifesaver which provides personalized radio transmitters for victims of Alzheimer's and other related mental dysfunction disorders, such as Down Syndrome and autism. This program helps caregivers and local emergency agencies locate individuals who become lost and cannot help themselves. For more information on this program click here.
