PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY. . . On Dec. 31, 2012, at 2:04 p.m., Motor Officer Chris Yung was involved in a crash at the intersection of Nokesville Road and Piper Lane in Bristow while responding to a separate crash. A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a minivan was making a left turn from northbound Nokesville Road into a shopping center, crossing in front of Officer Yung, 35, who was traveling southbound on Nokesville Road.

Officer Yung served with the Prince William County Police Department for seven years, and was assigned to the Traffic Unit as a motorcycle officer.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate and his extended family," said Acting Chief Barry M. Barnard. "We thank the public, including our public safety colleagues, for their thoughts and prayers as the Department copes with the loss of a colleague and friend.
