Daily Incident Report for Tuesday, October 9, 2018
Fatal Crash Investigation – On July 7 at 10:59PM, officers responded to the area of Old Bridge Rd and Rolling Brook Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed that a driver of a 1993 Toyota Standard was traveling westbound on Old Bridge Rd and attempted to make a left turn onto Rolling Brook Dr. The vehicle crossed in front of a 2016 Hyundai Elantra that was traveling eastbound on Old Bridge Rd. The driver of the Toyota is believed to have failed to yield the right-of-way to through traffic causing the collision. The driver of the Hyundai was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was subsequently arrested at the time of the crash. The driver of the Toyota was initially transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. On September 15, the driver died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. Prior to his death, the driver was transported out of state to another hospital facility. The Prince William County Police Department was recently notified of the death. The Crash Investigation Unit has reopened the investigation. The driver of the Hyundai reported minor injuries. The investigation continues.

​Abduction | Sexual Assault Investigation – On October 9 at 8:14AM, officers responded to the 14200 block of Essex Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an abduction. The investigation revealed that the victim, a juvenile girl, was reportedly walking to school along Essex Dr near Radford Dr when an unknown man approached and grabbed her. During the encounter, the suspect forced his way into a nearby home where he assaulted one of the residents, identified as an adult female, before fleeing the area on foot with the juvenile victim. The suspect took the juvenile victim to an unknown location on Cumberland Dr where he sexually assaulted her. The suspect then released the juvenile victim and fled on foot. The juvenile victim was located by responding officers a short time later. A police K-9 searched the area for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Attempted Malicious Wounding | Strangulation – On October 9 at 4:30AM, officers responded to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 15100 block of Lee Hwy in Gainesville (20155). The victim, a 42-year-old woman, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused placed a razor blade and a knife against the victim's neck. At one point, the accused also attempted to strangle the victim and prevented her from leaving the residence. The victim was eventually able to flee the home and flag down passing motorists for assistance. Minor injuries were reported. Officers responded to the offense location and determined the accused fled prior to their arrival at the home. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Glen Felix CORUM. Attempts to locate the accused were unsuccessful.

Strong-Armed Robbery – On October 8 at 6:55AM, officers responded to investigate a robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Rimpal Inn & Suites located at 7399 Old Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) earlier that morning around midnight. The victim, a 24-year-old man, reported to police that several unknown men assaulted and robbed him while he was standing on the sidewalk outside of the above location. The suspects took an undisclosed amount of money and a cell phone from the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim eventually reported the incident to hotel staff who contacted police. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. The victim was unable to describe the suspects to police.

Attempted Residential Burglary – On October 6 at 5:13PM, officer responded to a residence located in the 4500 block of Jennifer Ln in Haymarket (20169) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed that sometime between 9:00PM on October 4 and 10:00AM on October 6, entry was attempted into the home through multiple windows on the residence. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.
​Attempted Armed Robbery | Attempted Burglary – On October 9 at 10:43PM, officers responded to the area of Minnieville Rd and the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an initial report of a hit & run. The suspect vehicle, described as a dark colored SUV, struck another occupied vehicle before fleeing the area. While officers were on scene, multiple robberies were being reported to police. The first robbery occurred in the parking lot of the McDonalds at Ashdale Plz involving a 20-year-old man and 22-year old woman. Additional robberies were reported in the parking lot of the 7-11 on Gideon Dr involving a 42-year-old man and in the parking lot of Potomac Mills near the AMC theater involving a 24-year-old man and 23-year-old woman. The suspect in all three robberies appeared to be the same man driving a similar SUV involved in the hit & run. In each of the incidents, the suspect approached the victims and implied he had a weapon before demanding money. A suspect vehicle's license plate number was provided to officers. Officers determined the vehicle involved had been reported stolen to police from an address on Chelsea Dr in Woodbridge on October 1. Officers located the suspect vehicle unoccupied in the parking lot of Noblewood Plz. A police K-9 and helicopter with Fairfax County police searched for the suspect who was not immediately located. As police were investigating these incidents, officers were dispatched to the area of Moon Way and Madrigal Dr for a suspicious person matching the description of the suspect from the robberies. Officers arrived and located a suspect walking from behind a row of townhomes. Officers challenged the suspect who immediately fled on foot. After a brief chase, the suspect fell and was apprehended by police. Officers determined the suspect had attempted to enter a residence in the 3500 block of Moon Way and an unoccupied vehicle. As officers were processing the suspect, he lunged at the arresting officer which led to a struggle. Officers eventually subdued the suspect. Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Raekwon Malik BRYANT, was charged in connection to multiple incidents. Additional charges are pending.

​Abduction | Domestic Related – On October 8 at 3:51AM, officers responded to the 5600 block of Wheelwright Way in Haymarket (20169) to investigate a domestic. The victim, a 30-year-old woman, reported to police that she was asleep in her bedroom when woke to the accused, an acquaintance, standing over her. The victim attempted to get out of the bed at which point the accused held her down and covered her mouth when she attempted to scream for help. Another resident of the home, a 20-year-old man, entered the room and attempted to intervene. The accused assaulted the man before eventually leaving the home with the victim's cell phone. Responding officers stopped and detained the accused without further incident. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Chad Paul LEAHY, was arrested.

​Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On October 9 at 12:36AM, a Prince William County police officer was on proactive patrol when a suspicious vehicle was observed in the parking lot of the Days Inn located at 16925 Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025). When the officer approached the vehicle, both occupants, a man and a woman, immediately exited and began to walk away. The officer advised the occupants that they were being detained. At that point, the male occupant, identified as the accused, resisted and pushed the officer to the ground before fleeing on foot. The officer was able to catch up to the accused and a struggle ensued. The accused was eventually detained. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Antonio Daquan ROBINSON, was arrested. The female occupant was also located by officers and determined to be wanted on unrelated charges out of another jurisdiction.
