Malicious Wounding *ARREST On May 11, Joseph Aaron HAMILTON was arrested at his residence in Woodbridge. The accused was wanted for an assault which occurred at Giorgio's Family Restaurant located at 4394 Kevin Walker Dr in Dumfries on May 3.
Arrested on May 11:
Joseph Aaron HAMILTON, 41, of 5604 Shadybrook Ln in Woodbridge
Charged with malicious wounding

  • Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On May 3 at 10:30PM, officers responded to Giorgio's Family Restaurant located at 4394 Kevin Walker Dr in Dumfries (22025) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that two employees of the restaurant were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim, identified as a 27-year-old man, multiple times in the face. After the altercation, the accused left the business. The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries. Following the investigation, officers obtained a warrant for the arrest of the accused, identified as Joseph Aaron HAMILTON. Attempts to locate the accused were successful.
INCIDENTS
Fatal Crash Investigation – On May 11 at 7:18PM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Portsmouth Rd and Deward Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a crash involving a motorcycle. The investigation revealed that the operator of a 2015 Kawasaki Ninja 650 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Portsmouth Rd just west of Deward Ct. The operator lost control of the motorcycle and struck two parked vehicles. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the hospital. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. The operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The investigation continues.

Malicious Wounding – On May 13 at 5:40AM, officers responded to the 2200 block of Grundy Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 34-year-old man of Woodbridge, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in upper body with a blunt object, causing minor injuries. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. The investigation continues.
Malicious Wounding – On May 12 at 9:00PM, officers responded to the Potomac Inn located at 13964 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an assault. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 34-year-old man of Woodbridge, was staying at the hotel with an acquaintance, when they were involved in a verbal altercation. At some point during the encounter, another unknown male approached the victim and stabbed him in the upper body. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. Minor injuries were reported. Officers searched the area for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Brandishing – On May 12 at 7:33PM, officers responded to the 13900 block of Promenade Commons St in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a brandishing. The victims, two 28-year-old men of Haymarket, reported to police that a motorcycle was parked in the hash marks adjacent to a handicap spot. One of the victims placed a business card on the motorcycle, to inform the owner that parking in that space makes it difficult for disabled people to enter and exit their vehicles. The victims then entered the business and were approached by the driver of the motorcycle. The driver brandished a handgun and threatened the victims, before fleeing the area. No injuries were reported.

White male, 25 years of age, 6' 0", 230lbs, with a heavy build, short red hair, and a beard

Attempted Residential Burglary – On May 12 at 9:45AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13100 block of Bigleaf Maple Ct in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary attempt. The homeowner reported to police that around 3:00AM, a loud noise was heard to the rear of the residence. Later that morning, the homeowner discovered that a screen door had been removed from its track and placed against the residence. While officers were investigating the attempted burglary, several other homeowners in the area reported to police that an unknown white male was seen attempting to make entry into several vehicles in the area around 3:00AM as well. The suspect eventually fled the area when he was confronted by another homeowner. No entry was made into any of the residences or vehicles, and no property was reported missing.
Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On May 12 at 12:20AM, officers responded to the Hilton Garden Inn located at 2500 Neabsco Common Pl in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The callers reported to police that there was a large crowd standing outside of the hotel when several shots were heard in the area. When officers arrived and began dispersing the crowd, several shell casing were located in the parking lot. The suspects appeared to have fled the area in an unknown direction prior to officers arriving. No injuries or property damaged was reported.  There is no suspect description available at this time. The investigation continues.
ARRESTS​
Strangulation | Abduction | Domestic Related – On May 13 at 12:30AM, officers responded to investigate a domestic assault that occurred in the 14300 block of Bowman Ct in Woodbridge (22192). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 33-year-old woman, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the accused prevented the victim from leaving and then grabbed her by the neck and choked her. The parties eventually separated and the police were contacted. The accused left the residence prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Herman Rodney JACKSON Jr. The accused was located later that day and arrested without incident.

Strangulation – On May 12 at 6:15PM, officers responded to investigate an assault that occurred in the 13300 block of Occoquan Rd in Woodbridge (22191) earlier that evening. The investigation revealed the victim, identified as a 20-year-old woman, and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal argument that escalated while driving in a vehicle in the above area. During the encounter, the accused grabbed money out of the victim's hand then grabbed her by the neck and choked her. The parties eventually separated and the victim contacted police. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alonzo De'Vante BOURNE, was arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Correctional Officer – On May 14 at 12:32AM, officers responded to the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center located at 9320 Lee Ave in Manassas (20110) to investigate an assault on a corrections officer. The investigation revealed that a corrections officer was searching the cell of the accused. During the encounter, the accused struck an officer in the face. The accused was quickly detained without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was charged and remains incarcerated.

Assault & Battery on Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) – On May 11 at 11:15PM, an officer was working an off-duty detail at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191), when an intoxicated and disorderly man walked into the hospital. When the officer attempted to take the man into custody, he resisted and struck the officer in the chest. Additional officers arrived and the accused was eventually arrested without further incident. Minor injuries were reported by the accused.

Charged with assault & battery on LEO, obstruction of justice, and intoxicated in public

Residential Burglary | Domestic Related – On May 13 at 5:42AM, officers responded to the 2700 block of Sheffield Hill Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary in progress. The victim, a 53-year-old woman, reported to police that the accused, an acquaintance, entered the residence without her consent by breaking and entering through a front window. When officers arrived, the accused was located in the residence and was arrested without incident.
