UPDATES

Malicious Wounding *ARREST – On March 11, detectives with the Violent Crimes Bureau continued the investigation into a shooting and stabbing of an 18-year-old male that occurred in the 12000 block of Hooe Rd. in Bristow on March 8.  During the course of the investigation, detectives identified a suspect who was involved in the assault.  The accused, identified as a 17-year-old male, was charged and taken into custody without incident on March 11. The investigation continues.

  • Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On March 8 at 6:40PM, officers responded to a wooded area near the 12000 block of Hooe Rd. in Bristow (20136) for the report of a subject who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located the victim, identified as an 18-year-old male, suffering from gunshot and stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.
​INCIDENTS

Residential Burglary – On March 12 at 8:25PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 7000 block of Brookview Ct. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a burglary in progress. The resident of the home reported to police that an unknown man entered the residence through the basement sliding door that was found damaged. The suspect left the residence on foot when confronted by the resident. Officers and a police K9 searched the home and the surrounding area for the suspect who was not located. No property was reported missing.

ARRESTS

Strangulation – On March 5 at 2:42PM, the School Resource Officer at Stonewall Middle School located at 10100 Lomond Dr. in Manassas (20109) began an investigation into an assault that had occurred on school property. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 12-year-old girl, was involved in a verbal altercation with another classmate, a 12-year-old girl that escalated. During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the upper body and then grabbed her neck obstructing her airflow. The parties were separated and the SRO was notified. Following the investigation, petitions were obtained against the assailant on March 12.
