Aggravated Malicious Wounding *ARREST – On March 4, officers identified the suspect involved in a stabbing at the Linden Park Apartments located in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle earlier that morning. Upon further investigation, officers determined that the suspect was an acquaintance of the victim. Following the investigation, officers obtained multiple arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Donte Vashaun STOUTAMIRE. On March 11, the accused was located and arrested in Arlington.

Aggravated Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On March 4 at 11:23AM, officers responded to the Linden Park Apartments located in the 18100 block of Kilmer Ln in Triangle (22172) to investigate a stabbing. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 33-year-old woman, was walking in the hallway of one of the apartment buildings when she was approached by a man wearing a mask. During the encounter, the suspect pushed the victim's 12-year-old son then proceeded to stab the victim multiple times with a knife. The suspect eventually fled the area on foot and the police were contacted. The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.
Human Trafficking *ARREST – On March 10, Maurice Lamont COTTON, wanted for his involvement in a sex trafficking case in October of 2017, turned himself in at the Gar-Field Station and was arrested without incident.

Human Trafficking [Previously Released] – In October of 2017, officers began to investigate reports of sex trafficking at the Quality Inn located at 1109 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that the accused arranged for a prostitute, a 19-year-old woman, to meet with two males at the above location. Following the investigation, officers obtained multiple arrests warrant for the accused, identified as Maurice Lamont COTTON. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.
Fatal Crash Investigation – On March 11 at 3:07AM, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of Potomac Shores Pkwy and Cherry Hill Rd in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a single vehicle crash. The investigation revealed a 1992 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Potomac Shores Pkwy in the above area when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree. A front seat passenger, identified as a 16-year-old male, was transported to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries later that same day. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 19-year-old man, was flown to an area hospital with serious injuries. A backseat passenger, identified as a 16-year-old male, also sustained serious injuries. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Speed was a factor in the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not factors. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.

Strong-Armed Robbery – On March 11 at 2:15PM, officers responded to the Manassas Mall food court located at 8300 Sudley Rd in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 13-year-old male, reported to police that he was approach by an unknown male while standing near the food court. During the encounter, the suspect grabbed the victim's cell phone then punched him in the face. The suspect dropped the phone and fled the area on foot when a witness confronted him. No injuries were reported. Officers searched the area for the suspect who was not located.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On March 10 at 12:44AM, officers responded to the 14100 block of Cuddy Lp in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a shots fired call. Several witnesses reported to police that two unknown males were arguing in a parking lot in the above area. During the encounter, one of the males brandished a handgun and fired two rounds into the ground. The males then fled the area together possibly in a white sedan. Officers searched the area and located several shell casings and some bullets. No injuries or property damage were reported. The investigation continues.

Sexual Assault Investigation – On March 10 at 4:20PM, detectives began an investigation concerning an ongoing domestic assault that occurred at a residence located in the 12000 block of Tango Ln in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 31-year-old woman, was sexually assaulted by the accused, a family member. The accused also took the victim's phone and personal documents. Following the investigation, detectives arrested the accused, identified as Assad Ali ASHFAQ, without incident.

Threats on School Grounds – On March 8 at 8:39PM, officers received information of a potential threat of violence at Beville Middle School located at 4901 Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22193). The investigation revealed that a possible student communicated over the social media app "Instagram" suggesting an act of violence at the school. On March 9, the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to the school, with the assistance of detectives from the Intelligence Unit, identified the student and responded to his residence in Woodbridge. Following the investigation, the SRO obtained a petition for the student who was served and released back to the custody of a family member later that evening. The case will be handled through Juvenile Intake.
