Human Trafficking – In October of 2017, officers began to investigate reports of sex trafficking at the Quality Inn located at 1109 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that the accused arranged for a prostitute, a 19-year-old woman, to meet with two males at the above location. Following the investigation, officers obtained multiple arrests warrant for the accused, identified as Maurice Lamont COTTON. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

|Strong-Armed Robbery – On March 7 at 9:38PM, officers responded to the Taco Bell located at 17380 Dumfries Rd in the Town of Dumfries (22026) to investigate a robbery. An employee reported to police that an unknown man went behind the counter and pushed an employee away from the cash register. The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of money from the register before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. |

Threats on School Grounds – On March 7 at 4:27PM, officers received information of a potential threat of violence at Rippon Middle School located at 15101 Blackburn Rd in Woodbridge (22191). The investigation revealed that a student, a 14-year-old male, communicated over the social media app "Snapchat" suggesting an act of violence at the school. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence of the student. Following the investigation, officers obtained a petition for the student who was served and released back to the custody of a family member.

Threats on School Grounds – On March 5 at 11:22PM, officers received information of a potential threat of violence at Lake Ridge Middle School located at 12350 Mohican Rd in Woodbridge (22192). A student reported to officers that she overheard another student earlier that day making statements suggesting violence at the school. On the morning of March 6, a School Resource Officer identified the student who made the statements. During a subsequent search of the student, a single disassembled scissor blade was recovered. Upon further investigation after speaking with the student, the School Resource Officer determined that the threat was not credible. Following the investigation, a School Resource Officer obtained petitions for the student who was served and released back to the custody of a family member. The case will be handled through Juvenile Intake.

Charged with knowingly communicating a false threat to damage a building and possession of a weapon on school property
Commercial Burglary – On March 7 at 7:51AM, officers responded to the Vavoline located at 14103 Jefferson Davis Hwy in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a burglary. Video surveillance revealed that a former employee, identified as Carlos Alberto BENSUSAN, kicked out one of the garage door panels then entered the business at 11:57PM on March 6. The accused took an undisclosed amount of money before leaving the business on foot. Following the investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant for the accused. The accused was subsequently located at his residence and arrested without incident on March 8.
