Mission

The mission of the Office of Planning is to assist the community in developing the County to its best potential. Planning staff evaluates and implements policies to support the goals of the community as it prospers and matures.

 

What We Do

The Planning Office has three divisions: Long Range Planning, Current Planning, and Zoning Administration. The office is responsible for the development and implementation of the County's Comprehensive Plan, reviewing development applications, supporting land use tools and policies, and lastly acting as staff to the boards, committees, and commissions.

  • New System Coming November 2014!

    September 24, 2014

    Prince William County Development Agencies are implementing a new Development Management System called “EnerGov”, beginning November 12, 2014. This will impact customers of the Planning Office.
     
    The new system will provide Customers with 24/7 access to project information through a one-stop online portal. The Development Services ePortal replaces many of the eServices such as ePlanStatus, ePermits, eInspections, eInspectionSchedule, and Land Plan Review Status.
