The office is responsible for the development and implementation of the County's Comprehensive Plan and other land use tools and policies. The office also reviews development applications such as
rezonings, special use permits,
comprehensive plan amendments, zoning approvals, and
zoning appeals and variances. The office also acts as staff to the
Planning Commission,
Board of Zoning Appeals,
Historical Commission and
Architectural Review Board. The Planning Office has three divisions: Long Range Planning, Current Planning,
and Zoning Administration.
