The Planning Office Records Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Office of Planning is responsible for the review of development applications such as rezonings, special use permits, comprehensive plan amendments, zoning approvals and zoning appeals and variances. The office also acts as staff to the Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Historical Commission and Architectural Review Board. The Office of Planning has three divisions: Long Range Planning, Current Planning and Zoning Administration and a partnership in Community Development.
The Office of Planning is located at 5 County Complex Court, Suite 210, Prince William, VA 22192-9201.
Office hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except federal holidays.

Assistant Planning Director
This division is responsible for maintaining the Comprehensive Plan which may include preparing updates to the plan, processing comprehensive plan amendment requests, and processing public facility reviews. Long Range Planning also coordinates the County's cultural resources program including support to the Historical Commission and Architectural Review Board. Potomac Communities also within this division as is the Planning Office webmaster.

Rebecca Horner, Current Planning Manager
Current Planning reviews, and provides case management services for rezoning and special use permit applications from initial application acceptance to preparing reports with staff recommendations for presentation to the Planning Commission, and through final action by the Board of County Supervisors regarding the application. This division also responds to requests for land development documents and records associated with land development activities through the Records Center.

Steven Hall, Community Development Manager
The role of the Community Development Manager serves as a bridge between the Planning Office and Prince William County Economic Development. The focus is to proactively promote revitalization and redevelopment throughout the County by linking land use planning, economic development, and other internal functions. The partnership focuses on coordinating directly with property owners, businesses, neighborhood groups, and government agencies to identify needs and resources, address barriers to redevelopment and to promote capital investment in the development, and / or reuse of vacant underutilized buildings and properties.
