LOCUST SHADE PARK

Located next to the Marine Corps Heritage Museum, and minutes from I-95, Locust Shade park offers much more than scenic beauty, tranquil water, and picturesque trails.  The park is open year round from 7:00 a.m. to dusk.

Jean C. Smith Amphitheater

The park is home to the Jean C. Smith Amphitheater, a 400-seat outdoor performance venue that presents family entertainment during the summer season. Programs run May through August, please see amphitheater schedule for more details.​​ ​


SPRING USTA TENNIS CAMPS  
 

Saturdays, April 27 to June 8 (*no class Memorial Day Weekend.

The US Tennis Association, Mid Atlantic Section is providing introductory tennis sessions for beginner to intermediate participants to develop tennis fundamentals and athletic skills through a fun and engaging play and learn style.

  • USTA Tiny Shot Tennis (Ages 4-6), 2:00pm – 2:50pm   REGISTER HERE.

Program utilizes different court sizes and modified tennis equipment to help kids learn and play. All equipment is provided. 

Students should wear comfortable clothes and appropriate athletic shoes. 

  • USTA Premier Junior Tennis (Ages 7-12), 3:00pm to 4:00pm   REGISTER HERE.

Program utilizes different court sizes and modified tennis equipment to help kids learn and play.  Participants will also practice match play and learn about sportsmanship, game rules, and etiquette. Students should wear comfortable clothes and appropriate athletic shoes. 

  • USTA Premier Teen/Adult Tennis (Ages 13 +), 4:00pm to 5:00pm   REGISTER HERE.
