What is a Park Master Plan?
A park master plan is a plan for a park property which serves as a long range vision for the future development and programming of the park. It is one of the most important steps leading up to the development of a park. It generally identifies the anticipated uses and location of proposed facilities. The plan contemplates planned facilities and uses, natural and cultural resource management, and overall design concerns. Park master plans are conceptual in nature and do not necessarily represent or address finalized engineered plans.
