The First Tee of Prince William County began providing The First Tee curriculum in the summer of 2002. In our nationally-recognized junior certification program, we have connected with over 1,500 unique youth within the Northern Virginia area. The program provides a total experience that encourages participants to learn the life-long game of golf, while developing personal and social skills and values. Golf instruction, rules, etiquette and "Life Skills" instruction is handled by professional golfers. The First Tee coaches raise young golfer's self-esteem, discipline, honesty and integrity, all while they learn and play this great game.
Participants have the opportunity to advance through five levels of curriculum: PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle and Ace.
In addition to our programming, The First Tee National School Program is currently implemented in 36 elementary schools servicing over 23,000 youth in Prince William County. Our Chapter is located at Lake Ridge Park Golf & Marina in Woodbridge, VA however we offer programming at Forest Greens Golf Course, General's Ridge Golf Course and Prince William Golf Course.

GOLF

Prince William County Parks & Recreation offers four local, affordable golf courses for Prince William County residents. Golf lessons taught by quality, experienced instructors available.

Not only is Forest Greens Golf Club a resort experience, it offers resort amenities for the local or visiting golfer. There's a practice putting green and sand bunker, driving range, a fully-stocked pro shop, an on-course beverage cart, and rental equipment for our guests. Golfers can enjoy the course on a daily fee basis or on an annual pass plan making the most of their investment.

You are invited to our hardwood forest of specimen oak, beech and poplar trees. Whoever knew that a golf course could offer a thrill every minute? A simple ride in a golf cart gives way to rolling hills and spectacular scenery that will literally take your breath away. This 18-hole championship golf course plays 6294 yards from the back tees and is a perfect challenge for golfers of every level.

Located along the banks of the upper Occoquan Reservoir. Lake Ridge Golf and Marina features a challenging 9-hole par 3 course that is also home of the First Tee Program. Lake Ridge also offers fishing and boating, hiking trails, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, wooded natural areas, a mini-golf course and ample opportunities for family fun.

Prince William Golf Course ranks among the area’s most historic and reasonably priced golf courses. Built in the 1960’s by a group of farmers who traded their tractors for golf carts, this course’s inauspicious beginnings set it apart from some of the more modern properties in Northern Virginia. As such, the course is wide-open by comparison to some of the tight courses found nearby. The result is a course that favors low scoring.
