RELIC’s mission is to Preserve Prince William’s heritage, Provide access to Virginia historical information, and Assist family historians – whatever their family origins.

RELIC Collections

RELIC offers a variety of historical research materials and services. Staff are available to assist with your research. To identify particular titles and their locations, see our catalog.

National and International Resources

Census schedules and indexes (Ancestry Library Edition and Heritage Quest)
Family histories (including 25,000 books online)
Genealogical magazines (and PERSI index to genealogical magazines)
Internet and CD-ROM databases
Military records (including Revolutionary War pension applications)
Newspaper databases (including Washington Post and New York Times)
Passenger lists (including Ancestry Library Edition)
Vital records (including American's Obituaries and Death Notices


RELIC is staffed all hours the Bull Run Regional Library is open:
Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday (September to June), 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m.
The following staff are assigned full time to RELIC. They are trained to help you with your historical research needs.
Donald L. Wilson, Virginiana Librarian (Head of RELIC), since 1979. 
Tish Como, Librarian I, since 1994. 
Beverly R. Veness, Library Assistant III, since 1994.
Librarians from the Adult Services department augment the assigned staff to provide coverage Sundays and all hours the library is open.
