The Creative Kidz program at Haymarket Gainesville library have been canceled, until further notice.
BABY STORY TIME

Monday, October 1, 10:30 a.m. Baby Storytime will resume at Chinn Park Regional Library. The program is for babies 6-24 months with a caregiver. Siblings are welcome. 

Our story hours, through stories, songs and fingerplays, are designed to support the pre-reading skills every child needs to become a good reader. Registration online begins one week in advance of the program.

Maybe Something Beautiful Thursday, October 25

Read for the Record is the world’s largest shared reading experience, bringing over two million people together to the read the same book on the same day! Let’s see how many children and adults we can contribute to that total by coming to a special storytime to hear Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell.

  • 10:30 a.m.: Bull Run, Central (in Spanish), Chinn Park, Dale City, Haymarket Gainesville, Lake Ridge, Montclair
  • 11:00 a.m.: Dumfries
  • 11:15 a.m.: Bull Run
  • 6:30 p.m.: Potomac

Hoopla Digital offers downloadable eBooks to patrons 24/7. You can download with a valid library card, with the free hoopla digital mobile app on their Android or IOS device.

The eBook Cricket Media Collection includes more than 400 titles in e-book format and is suitable for Children grades Pre-K through 8th.

The eBook K-8 Collection contains more than 13,000 titles chosen to support a quality learning experience for K-8 students across all subject areas taught in elementary and middle schools, and content aligns with Common Core Curriculum Standards. The collection also features a selection of teacher resources to support educators and administrators.

Freading is a free eBook lending service being provided to the library system thanks to funding from the State Library of Virginia.

RB Digital Magazines offers downloadable magazines, available free to library patrons with no waiting and no checkout periods.
