McCoart Book Drop

The library book drop located at the McCoart County Complex has been removed as of Tuesday, January 21st.  It was leaking and damaging the returned items, and we are in the processing of replacing it with a new book return.  If you normally use the book drop at McCoart for returns, we ask that you please bring library materials you are returning to the Chinn Park Regional Library (located near McCoart) or to any other library branch.  Please note that all libraries have after-hours book returns that you may also use.  We hope to have a new book drop in place at McCoart soon.

Declaration for Libraries
Barbara Stripling, the current American Library Association President, is sponsoring this initiative and the goal is to gather signatures throughout the country and the world in support of the Declaration for Libraries.  In short, “We declare and affirm our right to quality libraries: public, school, academic and special, and urge you to show your support by signing your name to this Declaration for the Right to Libraries.” You will see posters in your local library branch with additional signing sheets, please sign your name (no contact information needed) to show your support for libraries.  In early May, at ALA’s National Library Legislative Day in Washington D.C., there will a ceremony and an unveiling of the number of signatures from all around the country and the world!
