Influenza
2011 - 2012 Update
This year's first case of Seasonal Influenza was confirmed in October and complaints of Influenza-Like-Illness (ILI) have increased across Virginia. Therefore, it is important to be vaccinated with the Seasonal Flu Vaccine to protect yourself and the community against the virus. Prince William Health District would like to encourage everyone to have a flu vaccine this year. The vaccine is the most effective way to prevent the flu and is recommended for everyone six months and older by the Centers for Disease Control. Those at particularly high risk for complications and those living or working with high risk individuals are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated. High risk groups include pregnant women, children younger than five years old, adults older than 50 and anyone with chronic health conditions. Remember: the best method of protection is the flu vaccine.
Prince William Health Department has flu vaccine available for ALL age groups! Flu vaccinations are available at both of our Health Department locations:
Manassas Health Department, 9301 Lee Avenue, 703-792-6300
