Fire and Rescue Recruit School Graduation
On Friday, July 1, 2011, the Department of Fire and Rescue held a graduation ceremony for Recruit Class 2011-1. The ceremony took place in the auditorium of the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge. Battalion Chief John Petrie presided over the ceremony.
Class 2011-1 consisted of 26 individuals who successfully completed 24 weeks of rigorous academic and physical training at the Department’s Public Safety Training Center in Nokesville, Virginia. Each student performed in excess of 1,100 hours of training and over 24,000 hours combined. The training consisted of one week of orientation, six weeks of Emergency Medical Technician Training, 14 weeks of Fire Training, and three weeks of Specialized Training.
Listed in alphabetical order, the graduates are Mark Balanda, Aldo Bonilla, Pamela Bray, Chris Clark, Graham Clark, Tyler Diettert, Jonathan Dillenbeck, Michael Doles, Jeffrey (Brian) Dowell, John Fowler, Terry Fuller, Patricia Giera, Cory Gillespie, Hector Guerrero, Andrew Hale, Jamie Helmick, James Lind, Amanda Lunceford, James Newbough, Patrick O'Donnell, Samuel Rodriguez, Edward Schmidt, Michael Shaw, Benjamin Singer, Kelly Williams, and Luke Yanike.
