Lake Jackson Dam Update

After yesterday’s heavy rainfall, the skies have finally cleared and the water level at Lake Jackson Dam has receded to a safe level. During the rain event, the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) initiated a Stage 3 Dam Emergency when water levels had risen above their normal levels resulting in a precautionary evacuation of residents of two homes in close proximity to the facility.

A Prince William County Police Officer checked on the residents this morning notifying them of the lake’s status and that evacuation was no longer advised.

The Department of Public Works will continue to monitor the water level at the Dam and will notify the proper authorities should the situation change.
