Fayette Court Fire Incident
On Tuesday, March 19, at 5:07 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 3600 block of Fayette Court in Dale City.  The resident’s smelled smoke, proceeded to investigate, and discovered a fire in the utility room.  First-arriving units reported a working fire in the rear of a single-family dwelling.  
The preliminary damage estimate is $25,000.00.  Two adults and two children were displaced by the fire.  The Building Official’s office assessed the structure and will be posting it as unsafe this afternoon. 
No injuries were reported. 
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office. 
Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue would like to remind residents that smoke alarms save lives. You double your chances of surviving a fire when you install working smoke alarms in your home. Remember to:
  • Install smoke detectors on every level within the home including the basement.
  • Test smoke detectors monthly and replace batteries as needed.
  • Change batteries when you change clocks (spring and fall).
  • Replace smoke detectors every 10 years.
